iPad
2010-04-23 12:03
A friend of mine bought
me an iPad while on tour in the US. It was delivered
to me in Sweden just a couple of days later. Been
playing around with it a lot. I think it’s a
fantastic device. It’s sleek, it’s fast, it’s
extremely easy to use. My children are using it all
the time to watch SVT Play and movies. Angry Birds HD is running a lot :-)
Well, so I had plenty of mail from users and friends about support for the iPad in my applications. I’m happy to tell you all that I just released iSubtitle 2.1.3 with an iPad export preset. Submerge 1.9.3 with iPad support was also released just a couple of days ago. I’m also making some major changes in RoadMovie 2.0, and it will of course have iPad and soft subtitle support.
I hope you get your hands on one of these iPads, it’s almost as magical and revolutionary as Apple claims it to be. Enjoy!

Submerge was just featured in MacUser UK, and it
received a full score of five happy mice :-) Full

Bredbandskollen iPhone developed by Bitfield
2008-12-05 13:06
Yesterday, the application Bredbandskollen iPhone was
released in the AppStore. We are proud to tell
you that it was developed by Bitfield AB on
commission for .SE. It’s an app to measure
your iPhone’s bandwidth when using 3G or Edge.
You can also see measurements from other
people nearby. It has gotten very good reviews
and a lot of press here in Sweden and it’s
currently number 2 in the Top Free Apps
section. You can read the press release here.
Great news and congratulations to .SE.
Check it out in the App Store.

gives more focus on my applications and it looks
much better then the old one, I think. All movies
are now played through my Flex 3 media player
called FlexiPlayer. See more samples at http://www.flexiplayer.com.
Please report any errors or such on the contact page. Thanks!

Mail Server Problems
2008-05-31 13:31
Yesterday, Friday May 30, I had some major problems
with my mail server. It was down for at least 12
hours :-( If you did send me any questions or such
at that time they might have ended up in the
endless void of the universe. Now everything is
back online again.

Submerge Trivia Solved
2008-04-21 23:13
Almost forgot to mention that someone actually
solved my trivia from the last blog entry.
The Submerge Icon is based on a picture from the movie Persona by Ingemar Bergman (1966). Read more at IMDB.
And the proud winner of a Submerge license is Karel Gillisen from the Netherlands. (Drumroll...).
Congratulations :-)

Hi all!
And thx for supporting Bitfield software :-) Big thx's to all of you!
RoadMovie 1.1 has just left the building and everything seems ok!
I'm a big fan of classical movies and swedish movies in particular...
Do you recognize from which movie I have been inspired when designing the Submerge application icon?
The first one who gives me the correct answer will get a free license of Submerge... Or a beeer...

Back in business
2008-02-24 17:12
I'm now back from a
wonderful offpist skiing week in Serre Chevalier and
the surroundings. Many, many thanks to Pia and Stefan
for their fine powder noses and their never ending
hospitality. If you're interested in backcountry
skiing or climbing I suggest you check out their
Mountaintime website.

PayPal support in the web store

buyers has been asking for this and now it's
finally in place. Shop til' you drop :-)
Presenting SlideshowMovie
2007-09-08 09:56
Today I'm releasing a new application called
SlideshowMovie. I
needed an app that could create beautiful
slideshows with real-time transitions without
needing hundreds of lines of javascript or php
or actionscript. This is a simple solution and
it creates uncluttered web-pages with a
minimum of html code in just a couple of
clicks! Check it out...
Back from a long vacation
2007-08-21 12:25
I'm jump starting my comeback from a long vacation
with a new release of Submerge, version 1.1.
There's now support for more subtitle file formats
like SubViewer 1 and 2 (.sub) and the minimalistic
format MicroDVD. There's also a neat new feature to
nudge the subtitles back and forth in time. Hope
you'll like it!
I have also added a new section in the MovieGallery Support section on how to Modify Templates. Good reading if you need to do some customization of the built-in Templates.
Submerge localization
2007-06-18 13:58
If you want to see
submerge localized in you native language please feel
free to contact us. It's not hard and you don't need
any special applications or technical knowledge. It's
simple...

Submerge review at Softpedia

One week in the great wide open
2007-05-05 20:57
It's been one week now since I released Submerge
and this new site. The reactions has been very
positive and a lot of people from europe find
Submerge very useful. Me, myself, I use it daily to
add subtitles to tv-series and movies, then I watch
them on my brand new Apple TV. It just works great.
:-) Conversion times (export to Apple TV) takes a
long time but I usually start the conversion in the
evening and everything is done by the morning.
Would be great if Submerge could add the exported
movie to iTunes when it's done. What new features
would you like to see in Submerge. Just mail me and
tell... By the way, I released a new version of
Submerge today. Download it and try it
out. The subtitle rendering speed has
increased dramatically and there's some bug
fixes too. Enjoy!
Première
2007-04-28 16:00
It's a big day today. Totally new site and a brand
new application. I've been working for quite some
time now on the new site and on the application
Submerge. Feels exciting
and a bit nervous to release them at the same
time. Hopefully everything will work out fine,
if not, please feel free to pop me a
message...
Live Broadcasting with Wirecast
2007-04-23 12:15
I'm in Stockholm today preparing for a live
broadcast from a press conference by the telecom
company TeliaSonera. I'm using Wirecast
from Vara Software to manage these
broadcast. Wirecast is a very handy little
application with which you can easily mix live
images with pre-recorded material like slides
and interviews and such. I use an ordinary
DV-cam and I broadcast in 16:9 widescreen
using H.264 and a screen size of 640x360. The
result looks great and slides and such are
crisp and clear. When the press conference is
over I publish the movie in a channel much
like the MovieGallery channels on
TeliaSonera's internal network for on-demand
viewing.
New Site Look and Feel
2007-04-18 20:09
Started working with a new look and feel for the
site today. I started looking for RapidWeaver
themes that could easily be modified. My choice is
a theme called BlackShadow from the italians at
Multitheme. It has a lot of
variations to begin with and I just plunged
down in the css files to make it look like I
wanted. The result is the site you're visiting
right now as you read this. Enjoy!
New MacBook Pro
2007-02-07 21:55
Got my brand new MacBook Pro today. Now working to
gather all docs and apps and stuff from three other
computers into this MacBook Pro. I have a couple of
hours of work ahead of me ;-)
